Newegg Package!
Jul 22nd
It’s always like Christmas when I get a package from Newegg in the mail. This being no different, I finally got a new headset. Coming from a Logitech G35, I expected quality. But a lot less weight and more comfort was needed. I recieved the Sound Blaster Arena Surround USB Gaming Headset. It’s literally plug and play, although you should install the drivers as recommended. They do make a huge difference, not to mention the really cool voice changing bit of the application you get. Great for trolling! They’re lightweight, and sound great. The mic seems fine so far. It feels cheap, like it will easily break, but thats what makes it so light weight I guess. Also, very comfortable! I love’m! Gotta love Creative sound products, this makes me miss my Zen a little bit. Newegg was offering this headset for about $70, which is a good deal and about $30 off from Creative. Looking for a new headset? I absolutely recommend these.
Upgrade To Four
Jul 21st
I finally upgraded my processor in my computer to the best my motherboard can possibly handle. I’m talking about the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 2.83 GHz. I may look into overclocking this little guy sooner or later. So far so good, no issues with this baby yet. Although, I have to say, taking off and putting back on my air cooler was a bit too tedious and frustrating. My mom actually had to do it since she has smaller hands. That’s ridiculous!
Sure, there is a whole new line up of processors now with the i7 and whatnot. But they do not go with my motherboard, so for this I am sad. And if you have any suggestions on overclocking this bad boy, please contact me! And a big thank you to the community over at overclock.net. I have asked for help and suggestions many times, and always got answers.
A “Real” Virtual Human
Jul 18th
I found this a bit interesting. No, it is not those virtual physical humans you find in Japan. It is Microsoft’s own, on the screen, virtual human. Even better, it is running off of the X-Box Natal. How cool is that? I don’t think I’ll ever buy this, or anything like that, but it just goes to show you that technology has come a long way. I think we can all agree now, that the X-Box has a lot of time before it becomes outdated. Back on track, the “real” virtual human’s name is Milo. It, or he, is almost as real as real can be in virtual terms on a display screen. Interacting with your physical moves(or body language) and your verbal communications. More at Discovery.
