Cyanogen 6!
Jul 8th
Posted by Sean in Technology
I’m an Android fan, so what does that mean? It means unlike the iPhone fanboys, I enjoy having freedom on my phone. Being able to legally unlike and root my mobile device for greater customization and features. Is this a direct shot at you Apple fags? Of course, now stop being Apple fags. Your iPhone 4 is the dumbest updated device Apple could come out with. With that said, Cyanogen 6 is coming out very soon! This means the best ROM available for Android phones are about to get that much better! Even though my Nexus One doesn’t really work, I’ll update it for the hell of it. Hopefully something nice will be coming to the MyTouch Slide. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed like always. Anyway, head over to the official Cyanogen website for more information.
MyTouch Horse
Jul 6th
Probably the most misleading title, but that’s okay because we’re talking economics here! Not really, I got my new phone though. I got a black MyTouch Slide, and I’m pretty satisfied with it. The deal breaker for me was if the Slide could play Adobe Flash, I would buy it. I got it for half price since I updated my contract plan, so even better! So what better way to test that out, other than by directing the web browser to shutupwomangetonmyhorse.com? And it worked!
So I got it, and it hasn’t been much of a problem whore, yet. At first my battery was draining fast, like faster than, well faster than this guy. It feels durable, but I have a feeling it’s going to break eventually. Because the one corner of the phone feels a bit loose. Love the keyboard, and it’s getting the Android 2.2 Froyo update? This phone is pretty amazing, not better than my old Nexus One(mainly because of the the N1′s much faster processor), but the MyTouch Slide is pretty quick too. I just prefer the physical keyboard. No better feeling than button mashing!
Date With Mobile Destiny
Jul 3rd
As you may have probobly not read in my past blog entries, I am in dire need of a new phone. I have narrowed my search, down to just two phones! The MyTouch Slide and a new Nexus One. I plan on making a stop inside the T-Mobile store on Monday after July Fourth to check out the MyTouch slide(since I don’t know anyone who would have it for me to play around with). It looks promising but also disappointing. Just like the first MyTouch was, although that was more disappointing than anything.
Testing WordPress App
Jul 1st
I’m testing the WordPress app on my still broken Nexus One. Yes, all this is, is a testing post. Nothing valuable to see here, move along. I’ll even add a test picture from my phone. Before you question the photo, it was a test picture taken during the school year, in my sociology class.
Red Trackball of Death
Jun 29th
So you’ve heard of the red ring of death, you know.. When your X-Box 360 console really ruins your month of gaming because you have to send it into Microsoft for them to fix and it generally takes them a month to do so. Well, phone Nexus One has what I would call the Red Trackball of Death. Everything still functions correctly, but my battery drains way faster than it should. Which is causing me to sell my prized phone, for a new one. This really sucks! So now I’m looking into buying a new phone soon. I’ve seen some reviews on the MyTouch Slide, looks promising but it’s not the same Android experience that I know and love. I’m also looking into the new Droid X. And I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m even considering leaning and looking into the Apple iPhone 4. eww..
